Surgery Countdown: One week!
Yesterday I went shopping with Des, she was looking for a dress for her graduation ceremony. Being a girl I can’t go shopping without trying things on, eventhough I know I don’t have the money right now for clothes. (Not to mention that I have to wait until after surgery for a shoping spree.) At one point we went to Express and they had the cutest cropped pants. So I grabbed an 8 that I didn’t think would fit and a 10. Surprisingly enough, the 8 fit the best. Besides hugging my extra pooch of skin which I didn’t like, it looked great on my butt and legs! When I put the 10 on, it looked better in the front where the pooch is, but it sagged around my butt and thighs. For the first time it occurred to me that I’ve been buying clothes to dress my extra skin. I buy sizes that are too big everywhere else just to hide my rolls. This is exactly the opposite problem Des has. God has blessed her with a booty to die for, but her waist is small, so she dresses for her ass! She ends up getting pants that are too big in the waist just to fit her butt! All this time I assumed I didn’t actually HAVE a butt, but I really do! I’ve just been hiding it in pants that don’t fit. Who knew!? Well I didn’t buy any pants, of course. I’ll wait after surgery until all my swelling goes down and I settle into a size comfortably. I’m assuming that after it’s all said and done I’ll be a solid 8. Or, at least, that’s what I’m hoping. Right now I’m an 8/10, depending on the brand and style. I’m really looking forward to buying clothes to show off all my hard work!

Hi Erica, are you getting excited yet? Not long at all left! I think we are a very similar size - over here in Aussie our size 6 is the meant to be the same as an American size 0, so i’m a size 14 Australian or a size 8 american. It’ll be great after the surgery wont it! Fitting into clothes nicer, not having to worry if a top rides up because we’ll have a beautiful flat belly underneath! I go in for my op on the 5th (2 more sleeps!) and have to stay in for 3 days, but i’ll email you as soon as i get out! Good Luck, Suzy

Yeah I’m getting excited. It’s about 6 days for me. I think I’m pretty much ready, stocked up on some things, called in my payment. I still need to do one or two things.. But I’m almost there!
But what about you? How are you fairing? You’re right on the doorstep! You’ll be on my mind Thursday (give or take the time difference– ha!). I wish you all the best and know you’ll do fine. Please email me or post on the boards as soon as you feel up to it. You’ll be up and running around with those kids before you know it. 3 days in the hospital huh? They send me right home!
That’s funny about the Australian/American sizes. Maybe I’ll come to Austrialia and we could go on a shopping spree together with our flat bellies.
